Our client, a large China-owned and based manufacturing and retail company in southern Mainland China was seeking to hire an experienced Vice President of Sales.
The client was particularly interested to hire a candidate from Hong Kong, as they were determined that candidate's from Hong Kong would possess the sufficient international experience required to help grow the business and expand into international markets.
Having identified a shortlist of potential candidates from Hong Kong, our client subsequently offered one particular candidate the job. Our candidate accepted the position on the strength that the role would provide him with the opportunity to fully utilize his existing Greater China and international business experience. In addition, our candidate was delighted with the chance to further develop his career with an ambitious and progressive China-based firm. At this time, he has successfully taken up the responsibilities, is currently recruiting his own sales team, and performing well and enjoying his new role.
A job for a senior Centre Director in southern China had become vacant due to retirement within our client, an international management consulting firm.
Our client had tried unsuccessfully to recruit from within the local market and experiencing no success, decided to expand the search to include out-of-country-based candidates. Given the level of seniority of the Centre Director and the depth of experience and expertise required, Hong Kong became an obvious source of potential candidates to fill this role.
