1. Our Basic Stance Towards the Handling of Personal Information

We, ManpowerGroup Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MPG"), set forth our personal information protection policy, and ensure that all of our directors, employees, and other related parties are fully aware of its contents, and will implement, improve and maintain the policy. Acquisition of personal information is carried out in a lawful and fair manner and it is not obtained through fraudulent methods. In addition, we inform the owner of the personal information of the voluntary nature of providing personal information and the outcome to the individual if such information is not provided.

2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information

    2. Personal information of permanent job seekers
      To conduct communication for and acceptance of Permanent Placement Service registration procedures, to conduct services related to job introduction, to provide information on promotions / seminars / events related to our services, to request for feedback through various kinds of survey questionnaires to improve our services, to respond to inquiries and consultations, to create statistical data and to perform other related services.
    3. Personal information of outplacement job seekers
      To conduct communication for and acceptance of outplacement service registration procedures, to conduct outplacement services, to provide information on promotions / seminars / events related to our services, to request for feedback through various kinds of survey questionnaires to improve our services, to respond to inquiries and consultations, to create statistical data and to perform other related services.
    4. Personal information of clients
      To provide our services, to proceed with contracts, to manage sales/deals, to provide information on our services, to provide information on promotions / seminars / events related to our services, to request for feedback through various kinds of survey questionnaires to improve our services, to respond to inquiries and consultations, and to perform other related services.

  2. Entrusted Personal Information and Its Purpose of Use
    Personal information entrusted to our company in connection with entrusted business shall be used for the execution of entrusted business and other related services.
  3. Publicly Available Personal Information and Its Purpose of Use
    Personal information obtained from publicly available information such as websites, SNS, telephone directories and corporate directories will be used to provide information about our services. In the event we use this personal information to contact the person, we will notify the person in advance of the purpose of use, acquisition method, and obtain consent.

3. Use of Statistically Processed Personal Information

MPG may create statistical data based on the personal information it has obtained, processed in such a way that individuals cannot be identified.

MPG may entrust personal information to business partners that meet our personal information protection standards only to the extent required to accomplish the purposes mentioned in Article 2 hereof.

6. Non-Disclosure and Non-Provision of Personal Information to a Third Party

In principle, personal information held by MPG will not be disclosed or provided to a third party without the consent of the person concerned, with the exception of the following cases. However, for the purpose of smooth implementation of the purpose of use in Article 2 and efficient business operation, personal information may be provided to third parties such as our parent company, ManpowerGroup Inc., and group companies in Japan and overseas.

  • When the necessary information has been clearly stated or notified to the person concerned and his / her consent has been obtained in advance.

8. Matters on security control measures

  1. Formulation of basic policy
    MPG has formulated a "Personal Information Protection Policy" that includes "compliance with relevant laws and regulations" and "establishment of a contact point for inquiries, complaints and consultations" to ensure the proper handling of personal information.
  2. Establishment of rules regarding the handling of personal information
    MPG has established "Personal Information Protection Regulations" regarding handling methods, responsible persons / persons in charge, and their duties at each stage of acquisition, use, storage, provision, deletion / disposal, etc.

    Regular self-inspections as well as audits by other departments and external parties are conducted regarding the status of personal information handling.

    Matters concerning confidentiality of personal information are described in the work regulations. Employees commit to a Non-Disclosure Agreement at the time of joining the company.
    Regular training is provided to all employees regarding the handling of personal information and related points of concern.
  5. Physical security control measures
    In the areas where personal information is handled, MPG controls the entry and exit of employees, restricts the equipment they bring in, and implements measures to prevent inappropriate use of personal information by employees who are not authorized to enter and exit the areas.
    Measures are taken to prevent theft or loss of devices, electronic media and documents that handle personal information.
  6. Technical security control measures
    Access control is implemented to limit the persons in charge and the scope of personal information database handled.
    A mechanism is in place to protect information systems handling personal information from unauthorized external access or unauthorized software.

    MPG is implementing security control measures based on our understanding of the systems for the protection of personal information in each of the following countries where personal information is stored.

9. Overseas Transfer of Personal Information

  1. Entrustment of personal information to parent company (located in the United States of America)
    MPG entrusts personal information to its parent company, ManpowerGroup Inc., which is a third party located in a foreign country that meets the standards for personal information protection set forth by MPG, within the scope of the purposes of use described in Article 2.

  3. Existence of information that can be an index for the system

    - This country is under the category of a GDPR-based sufficiency certification country.

    - This country is a member of APEC's CBPR System.
  4. Method of establishing a system for providing personal information to the third party
    MPG has concluded an Agreement on Personal Information with the third party (parent company, ManpowerGroup Inc.) to whom personal information is provided and entrusted.
  5. Measures taken by the third party to protect the personal information
    In the above Agreement, MPG set forth that the third party shall handle personal data within the scope necessary to achieve the specified purpose of use, shall not change the purpose of use without MPG's prior consent, shall take necessary and appropriate security control measures, and shall appoint a manager responsible for the handling of personal information and so forth.
  6. Frequency and method of confirmation
    MPG shall be able to request a report on the measures taken by the third party, and will confirm it in the form of receiving a written report on a regular basis.
  7. Suspension of provision of personal information
    MPG will stop the entrustment of personal information to the third party if the third party is handling personal information in violation of the consignment agreement including the measures described in Article 2 above, and MPG determines that it is difficult to ensure the continuous implementation of appropriate measures because the third party fails to correct the handling within a reasonable period of time even after being requested to do so promptly in accordance with the Agreement.

10. Request for disclosure / correction / deletion of retained personal information

Regarding personal information retained by MPG that is subject to disclosure, the following actions may be requested: notification or disclosure of purpose of use; suspension of use or deletion of information; suspension of provision to third parties; correction, addition or deletion of personal information as a result of disclosure (hereinafter referred to as "Request for Disclosure, etc."). When we receive a request for disclosure etc., we shall inform the person concerned of the procedures, etc., and respond appropriately and promptly to a reasonable extent.
Inquiries will be handled by the following team in charge of complaints and consultation.
*If the request for disclosure, etc. is preferred through digital means, please inform MPG. In principle, MPG will respond according to the request.
